Celeste Jacobo AR

Argentinian visual, sound and audiovisual artist based in Corrientes, who produces works fusing light, image and sound.

She works in expanded projections, photography, video, sound, both in analog and digital media: in hand-painted slide projections, rear projections, analog photography, in black and white and color film, laboratory, Super 8 cinema, VHS video, sound on cassette and digital, and lighting. For her visual work, she seeks to abstract forms, investigates color and textures; and in terms of sound, she fuses natural sounds with artificial sounds, seeking a contrast -field recordings, soundscapes and sound synthesis-, in a nature-machine dialogue. She also works with direct light from fluorescent tubes and ultraviolet light, or projector light. Light is the raw material of her pieces.

She participated in work analysis and monitoring clinics, programs, individual and group exhibitions, and festivals. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Combined Arts at UNNE, Universidad Nacional del Nordeste, and works on the projects Estudio Plateado, her art direction and design studio, and Fotograma Lab, her image and visual and audiovisual research laboratory.
