Ale Hop
Ale Hop PE
Berlin-based Peruvian experimental instrumentalist, researcher and artist Alejandra Cardenas
Ale Hop composes electronic music by blending strains of noise, pop, avant-garde, ambient and a complex repertoire of extended techniques for electric guitar and real-time sampling devices. This sound vocabulary translates into performances of astonishing physical intensity—a scream of saturated layers of distortion and stunning atmospheres. Alejandra earned a master’s degree in Sound Studies from the University of Arts of Berlin. Her solo project under the moniker Ale Hop debuted on Boiler Room as part of Red Bull Music Academy New York 2013. Since then, Ale Hop has evolved from post-rock to her own unique style of playing and conceiving music. When not working on her solo endeavors, she is engaged with creating scores for films, television and dance projects. She has presented her work in concerts and exhibitions across Latin America, Europe and North America.
