Juliana Tachella
Juliana Tachella AR
Argentinian designer, visual and multimedia artist from Córdoba.
She explores different techniques of image production and manipulation working with visual arts and the moving image using analogue and digital techniques, with particular interest in collage, archival material, and audiovisual animation.
Many of her projects focus on the creative exploration of the landscape from the tension between the plastic image and expanded cinema, trying to decompose and recompose something of that non-transferable experience that is the contemplation of the landscape. Guided by the search for a landscape that does not yet exist, and traversed by the way in which science and technology mediate people’s relationship with the environment, she seeks to offer a sensitive reinterpretation of natural phenomena, in a symphonic and chaotic reorganisation of the elements of nature.
Some of her projects were part of different exhibitions and festivals, among them the Ciclo Experimentalia (Centro Cultural España, Córdoba), the Festival de Artes Mediales y Videoarte del Museo de las Mujeres (VideoFest Córdoba), the exhibition Protegjer (Museo Emilio Caraffa), the Jornadas Cage (Museo de las Mujeres), the Festival Santo Noise, the Festival Internacional de Video Arte de Camagüey (FIVAC Cuba), and the 4th Salón Internacional de la Imagen IMAGEN PALABRA (Colombia).
She was awarded a scholarship to participate in some residencies and trainings, among which stand out the Beca Formación 2019 granted by the Fondo Nacional de las Artes, the Residencia Vórtice “Experimentaciones Con el soporte” Plataforma INVE (Chile), the Clínica en Artes Visuales del Centro Cultural de la Memoria Haroldo Conti, the Residencia BIM (UNTREF), Seminario de Arte Electrónico y Arte Digital (Centro de Producción e Investigación en Artes de la UNC) and the Artlab x AMPLIFY D.A.I. Artistic Residency.
