Marija Bozinovska Jones UK
London-based Macedonian multimedia artist
In her technological performances and art installations, Marija Bozinovska Jones examines our social acts and systems alongside neural and computational architectures. By blending natural environments with urban utopian techno-ideals, she creates “heterotopian” landscapes for us to collectively inhabit. Through computer coding, human languages and sound, she explores how identity is subjectively constructed as a matrix in a time of technocapitalism, when trends in self-improvement and decentralized technologies are flourishing. Bozinovska Jones holds an MA in Computational Arts from Goldsmiths University and a BA in Arts and Design at Central Saint Martins. She’s collaborated with musicians and producers Iydes (on the 3D Additivist Manifesto), A Guy Called Gerald and Mind:Body:Fitness/Phoebe Kiddo among other artists, and worked with musician and producer J.G. Biberkopf on CTM and Deutschlandradio’s RadioLab award commission, and presented at Berghain in Berlin. Bozinovska Jones recently presented and performed at the Hague’s Rewire festival, and Amsterdam’s Sonic Acts Academy, and has also performed at Transmediale, MIRA and OFcourse at M50 in Shanghai, and installed a piece for Nocturnal City during a residency at Somerset House in London.
