Prifma AR

Multimedia visual artist duo Laura Fuchs (AR) and Mecha I Oviedo (CU), who create live visual performances and immersive light installations.

Through their visuals, they investigate the dialogue between the intangible virtual world and the physical universe of light. For this, they created their own lighting device with which, using a camera and digital processing, they explore the error-glitch caused by light as it passes through sculptures of different translucent materials inspired by crystals and minerals. They generate their own poetics of crystals that, with the sensitivity of their hands, become a camera, and vice versa. The result is cellular landscapes, an exploration of colors and textures that becomes a journey between the fusion of nature and fantasy. In their latest projects they are exploring the qualities of biomaterials and their processes.

Prifma has performed at numerous international festivals and residencies such as Mutek Montreal, Mutek Japan, Mutek Argentina, Lollapalooza Argentina, Espacio Pla, Artlab, Somerset House Studios (UK), The Wrong – New Digital Art Biennale and Fire House Session 48hs Neukölln (Berlin).
