Electronic music producer from Montréal, Sara Magnan

Magnanime creates a hybrid rife with experimental nuances, embracing mistakes of technology and recycling odd noises into her perpetually evolving, beat-driven repertoire. Her melange of tech house, IDM and musique concrète was developed in part while studying at Recording Arts Canada and in technical direction in the contemporary dance world. The idea of sonic movement percolates through her music, which comes to the fore in live settings, where her sense of physical exchange with audiences is palpable. Her music is not without a sense of humour, or political currents, with vocal samples often scattered throughout, offering narrative glimpses into her personality. Over the last almost decade she has seen a number of her productions out through Siteholder, CCCLTD, Klangscheiben, and Perlon.
